| F-16AM J-620 Springfield Training Detachment | ||
 Since April 2007 the Royal Netherlands Airforce has maintained a Training Detachment at the Springfield Air National Guard Base at Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport (KSGH) in Clark County, Ohio. This unit operates RNLAF F-16AM and F-16BM’s which are periodically rotated back to The Netherlands.
The course last for about nine months and trains pilots who before that had no experience on the F-16. This arrangement serves to reduce the load on the crowded airspace in north western europe and also to reduce noise pollution by reducing the number of flights flown in the area. |
